Jean Morel left for his last flight

Many many many years ago, we meet Jean when he visited the Museum in search of information about the crash of his father in the years 1930's. Jean was aviation addicted. He was born in 1927, the son of a dentist and a private pilot. His father was owner of 2 aircraft and a member of the club des aviateurs de Bruxelles. All the aviators around Brussels were the patients of the father of Jean and Jean told us a lot of time his encounters with Prosper Cocquyt or other personalities of our aviation. In 1944, Jean was fascinated as so much young peoples of his generation by airmen of the RAF based in Brussels. He never worked in the aviation business but never forgot the passion of his young years and on regular intervals visited the Museum workshop with new stories, questions and an incredible enthusiasm. Jean left us on April 17th. He was just a friend who share his passion with us.
We would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Jean and to Yves, his great nephew who perpetuate the love of aviation of Jean.
