More than 1.5 million passengers at Brussels Airport in February
Cargo transport grows strongly by 7.7%
In February 2017, Brussels Airport welcomed over 1.5 million passengers, which is a decrease of 0.4% on February 2016, owing to the leap day. Without the leap day effect, the number of passengers would have shown an increase of 3%. Cargo transport at Brussels Airport rose by 7.7% compared with the same month last year, due to the strong growth in the full freighter segment.

Brussels Airport constructs spotter places in Zaventem and Steenokkerzeel
Each day, dozens of spotters come to Brussels Airport. The large diversity of airlines, the special aircraft and the dynamism attract quite a few plane spotters to the airport, some of them from across the border. Brussels Airport wants to provide safe and interesting places for spotters where they can exercise their favourite hobby and for this reason it is investing in the construction of two spotter places in Zaventem and Steenokkerzeel.

Travellers help to improve airport experience at Brussels Airport
Free drop-off zone, improved signage and more check-in locations: the first initiatives to come out of Brussels Airport's 'Join the BRU Crew' survey.
Last summer, Brussels Airport launched the 'Join the BRU Crew' project, aimed at collecting feedback from travellers on what they feel is going well and what could be improved upon at the airport. Brussels Airport is taking these findings to heart and has already implemented a number of changes, including the new free drop-off location outside the car parks, new parking concepts, more extensive signage and new locations for passengers to check in.

Brussels Airport welcomed 21.8 million passengers in 2016
Forwarded message - From: MEDIA Mailbox <MEDIA@brusselsairport.be>
Brussels Airport welcomed 21.8 million passengers in 2016
Cargo transport increased in 2016 to nearly 500,000 ton
Brussels Airport handled 21.8 million passengers in 2016, down 7 % on record year 2015. The decrease is completely due to the attacks on the airport on 22 March; the airport was closed for 12 days and then only gradually resumed its operations. Cargo traffic at Brussels Airport rose by 1.1% compared to 2015, despite the impact of the attacks.
