Airside Pharma Transporter of Brussels Airport pursues its innovations
Large foreign interest for transporter at TIACA Air Cargo Forum

Brussels Airport presented the renewed "Airside Pharma Transporter" at the TIACA Air Cargo Forum in Paris. The transporter has been further innovated and now operates with solar panels so that the refrigerated unit can adopt or retain the required temperature at any time. Thanks to this innovation, the transporter is not only energy neutral but also more efficient and a larger number of transports per day is possible. The transporter was developed by Brussels Airport for the Belgian pharmaceutical sector and is used by the airport at every possible opportunity. For this reason, the product has enjoyed considerable worldwide interest at the Forum.

Brussels Airport : Press release : Passenger and cargo transport at Brussels Airport is recovering after 22 March attacks

Forwarded message - From: MEDIA Mailbox

Brussels Airport, 19 May 2016

Passenger and cargo transport at Brussels Airport is recovering after 22 March attacks

In March and April Brussels Airport has welcomed 1.2 million and 1.1 million passengers respectively, a 29.1% decrease for March and a 46.5% decrease for April on last year. The cargo volume dropped by 20.9% in March on the corresponding month in 2015. For April a 4.8% decrease was recorded. These negative growth figures are the result of the temporary suspension of operations at Brussels Airport following the 22 March attacks in the departures hall. In the last weeks of April the airport recorded growth in both passenger and cargo traffic. Less than a month after the attacks the confidence of the passengers and (cargo) customers in Brussels Airport is being restored.
