Brussels Airport continues its momentum with more than 2.26 million passengers in May

In May 2018, Brussels Airport welcomed more than 2.26 million passengers, an increase of 2.8% compared to the same month last year. This new record confirms the excellent results recorded over the first four months of the year. Freight transport at Brussels Airport has increased sharply (+15.9%), thanks in particular to trucked freight, but also to belly cargo.

Cathay Pacific to connect Brussels Airport and Hong Kong

As of 25 March 2018, Cathay Pacific will be operating a nonstop service to Hong Kong from Brussels Airport. Following direct flights to Beijing, Tokyo, Bangkok, Shanghai and Mumbai, Brussels Airport is further strengthening its Asian network thereby confirming the attractiveness of the Belgian market. Brussels Airport will be the 13th direct European destination in Cathay Pacific's network.

Record summer with 2.5 million passengers

In August, Brussels Airport welcomed nearly 2.5 million passengers, a rise of 7.6% compared to the same month in 2016. This is a new airport record for the month of August. Cargo transport saw a growth of 1.8% in comparison with the same month last year.
