Koksijde airshow is already mentioned on many aeronautical blogs as “the best European airshow of 2011”. And indeed, to highlight the 65 years of the Belgian Air Force the authorities are busy to prepare a great event. The theme will be of course the history of the Belgian Air Force with the participation of many historical aircraft like Spitfire, Harvard, SV4 and other Hunter.
No less than eight demonstration teams are planned

Volandia – Park and Museum of flight
Take a look around you - the walls are steeped in history, dreams and the future. You are at Volandia, where a wonderful exhibitionitinerary takes you deep into the history of international aeronautics,with focus on the companies that have written the story of the provinceof Varese, the province with wings, and all of Lombardy and Italian industry.The exhibition is divided into five areas: forms of flight, fixed wing, rotary wing, model aircraft and the convertiplane. It tells the great history of flight in all its forms, from pioneer flights in hot-air balloons to the first aircraft in the early 1900s right through to the convertiplane, the perfect fusion of vertical and horizontal flight.
The Park and Museum of Flight has plenty of indoor and outdoor areas for children, with space dedicated to the different age brackets. For older visitors there is the simulation area, library, historical archives (consultable online), convention room and film showings.
The Volandia Store stocks a wealth of park and museum gifts and mascots and many other wonderful articles.
As you walk around the park and museum you can listen to exciting adventures involving the aircraft on show told by volunteers ofthe “Friends of Volandia” association, whose members include fanatics and former workers at the aircraft companies. If you would like to join the association, just ask.. Members are easy to recognise in their red uniform.
The Flight Café is the perfect place to take a break and have something to eat and drink.
Volandia makes flight dreams and fun happen.

Hello,
WW1 permitted fast progresses in mechanical technologies.
Aircraft & car were widely used.
Our friend André Fillée who was volunteer at the Museum aeronautical section is now busy with a new challenge.
Building a replica of a armored motorcar used by the Belgian Army during World War 1.

Un peu d'histoire voulez-vous. Durant des siècles, pour ne pas dire des millénaires, l'histoire a été racontée puis enseignée de façon à justifier certaines prises de positions politiques, économiques, sociales ou personnelles, rarement de manière objective.

Royal Army Museum Activities
Er was eens... het Koninklijk Legermuseum
Het Legermuseum zet de deuren van de verbeelding wagenwijd open! De zalen zigzaggen tussen water, aarde, vuur en lucht! Vertellers nemen u mee naar de donkerste hoekjes van het museum, waar een object of een sfeer nu eens heroïsche of verschrikkelijke en dan weerromantische of stoutmoedige verhalen opwekken.
Sprookjes uit de hele wereld, gebracht in het Nederlands en het Frans,werpen een nieuw licht op de rijke collecties van het museum.
Dit is geen geleid bezoek.

Quand le Musée de l'Armée ouvre ses portes à l'imaginaire !Quand ses salles nous font passer de l'eau à la terre et du feu à l'air ! Des conteurs vous entrainent dans les coins et recoins du musée, où un objet, une ambiance fait jaillir une histoire héroïque et terrible, romanesque et audacieuse... Des contes du monde entier en français et en néerlandais pour se laisser surprendre et porter un autre regard sur les riches collections du musée.
Ceci n'est pas une visite guidée.
