
Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators The RCAF operated only six B-17 Flying Fortresses during the Second World War, but not as offensive weapons. Instead, they were stripped of their guns and, operating from Ottawa, were stuffed with letters and packages for Canadian servicemen fighting in Europe. Their only enemy was the weather, and as you will see, it took a devastating toll.
