Brussels Airlines offers 11 new destinations this summer
season, which, in aviation, starts on 30 March and runs until end of
October. In total the airline will expand its offer with 2.486 extra
scheduled flights.

European network
11 new destinations make their debut in this year’s summer schedule:
Alicante, Athens, Bari, Bastia, Cagliari, Figari, Krakow, Malta,
Montpellier, Seville and Warsaw. Several existing routes will have
additional flight frequencies, including Catania, Faro, Florence,
Lisbon, Madrid, Malaga, Marseille, Palermo, Marrakech and Stockholm
Bromma. Like last year, Brussels Airlines also reopens Porto as a summer
route. The city bears this year’s title of “Europe’s Best Destination”.
The short- and medium haul network consists of a total of 58
destinations this summer and is further complemented by codeshare
destinations operated by partner airlines.
“Next to our well-established offer for the business traveler, we
wanted to also increase the attractiveness of our leisure network. With
this network expansion, we offer more than ever an excellent range of
holiday destinations”, says Frédéric Dechamps, Brussels Airlines Vice
President Sales Benelux, Europe and America.
Long-haul network
This summer, the Brussels Airlines long-haul network is also further
optimized with additional flight frequencies. An additional flight is
scheduled to Luanda (Angola) and Bujumbura (Burundi). This brings the
number of weekly flights to these destinations to three instead of two.
An additional (fifth) weekly flight is scheduled to operate to Nairobi
(Kenya). The intercontinental network includes a total of 2 destinations
to the United States and 19 destinations to Africa.
Charter activity
Brussels Airlines also plans a lot of charter activity this summer.
The airline will operate holiday flights to sunny Mediterranean
destinations on behalf of Belgian and foreign tour operators. Their
largest customers are Thomas Cook and Club Med. Brussels Airlines also
offers holiday flights from French and Swiss airports. In total, 1044
holiday flights are planned for this summer season. Source: Brussels Airlines
