Brussels Airport : Diamond building at the departures hall Brussels Airport entirely reopened
Forwarded message - From: MEDIA Mailbox
The departures hall at Brussels Airport is all set for the start of the summer season. Work in the area adjacent to the Diamond building in the departures hall is finished and the area was reopened Friday afternoon. The reopening allows for a larger and smoother passage from the check-in desks to security screening and towards the lower levels, including the arrivals hall, the bus station and the train station.

Brussels airport : Passengers arriving by train again have direct access to the departures hall in Brussels Airport
Forwarded message ----------

Passengers arriving by train again have direct access to the departures hall in Brussels Airport
From Wednesday 8 June, passengers travelling to and from Brussels Airport by train can again make use of the new train station that gives direct access to the terminal. For the train travellers this means a considerable improvement in comfort. They can again take the escalators or elevators to the arrivals or departures hall, just as they could before 22 March.
On 22 April, train traffic to the airport was resumed as before. Passengers, however, had to make use of the old station, because the exit of the new station leads into the damaged departure hall.
Pre-screening of passengers in the train station
In consultation with the federal police and Brussels Airport Company, additional security measures imposed by the federal government, are being implemented in the new train station. Passengers arriving by train, in common with all other visitors, will have to pass through the pre-screening by the security services before they can enter the departure hall. This pre-screening is expected to cause only minimal disturbance to the passengers.
Wide range of train services to the airport
The train remains one of the fastest and most convenient ways of reaching Brussels Airport. There is a direct connection with Brussels Airport – Zaventem station from no less than 82 stations. During the working week, twelve trains an hour stop at the airport; during the weekend, ten trains an hour stop there. The complete timetable can be found on the website www.belgianrail.be or you can use the free NMBS app.

Brussels Airport to provide 100% check-in capacity in departures hall as of 2 June
Brussels Airport to provide 100% check-in capacity in departures hall as of 2 June
As of Thursday 2 June all passengers will again be able to check in at the departures hall. Thus Brussels Airport resumes normal operations in the departures hall a mere two and a half months after the attacks. The 21 airlines that still have their check-in desks in the temporary constructions, will be returning to the terminal. Since a few days a new flight schedule applies which allows for 28 departing flights an hour. The airport will gradually increase this number to allow for 44 departing flights per hour by the start of the summer rush.
