Brussels Airport Cargo Awards presented in recognition of an exceptional cargo year

This year, because of the Covid-19 crisis and the difficult year for aviation, Brussels Airport Company was not able to continue its annual tradition of presenting the Brussels Airport Aviation Awards. But the airport does recognize and appreciate the efforts made by all those partners that have kept operating passengers flights in difficult conditions and have shown great flexibility in doing so. Because of the large contribution and the growth of the cargo community at Brussels Airport in this unusual year, Brussels Airport has presented its first Cargo Awards during a virtual event.

[Brussels Airport] Gradual recovery of passenger flights at Brussels Airport in June

Forwarded message - De : Press office

Gradual recovery of passenger flights at Brussels Airport in June
Full-freighter volumes up by +71.5%!

Brussels Airport is delighted and relieved to be welcoming passengers again since 15 June for non-essential, and mainly leisure, travel. Although recovery is slow and gradual, the trend is on the up as the choice of destinations increases week after week. Last June, which was a month of transition, Brussels Airport recorded a 96.5% drop in passenger numbers, compared to the same month last year. Cargo, on the other hand, and particularly the full-freighter segment, continues its growth, recording a 71.5% increase in full-freighter volumes in June. This sector is running full speed, while passenger activity is gradually picking up during this strange summer.

[Brussels Airport] Alyzia SAS krijgt tijdelijke licentie voor 6 maanden op Brussels Airport / Alyzia SAS obtient une licence temporaire de 6 mois à Brussels Airport

Forwarded message - De : Press office
Date: ven. 19 juin 2020 à 15:38
Subject: Alyzia SAS krijgt tijdelijke licentie voor 6 maanden op Brussels Airport / Alyzia SAS obtient une licence temporaire de 6 mois à Brussels Airport
To:

[Brussels Airport] A decrease of 99.3% in the number of passengers, but an increase of 52.1% of the full cargo volume in April

Forwarded message - De : Press office

A decrease of 99.3% in the number of passengers, but an increase of 52.1% of the full cargo volume in April
Thousands of compatriots return home via Brussels Airport

The coronavirus reduces the number of passengers to a minimum in the month of April. That is, last month, 17,000 passengers transited through Brussels Airport. It's a huge difference from the 2.3 million passengers in April 2019. Thousands of compatriots returned home via Brussels Airport, among the regular flights and the 14 repatriation flights from our airport. In April, although there was a 13.7% decrease in freight transport compared to the same month last year — mainly due to the disappearance of freight on board passenger aircraft — there was a sharp 52.1% increase of full cargo. Freight remains key to the supply of our country in these difficult times and allows the transport of essential goods, medicines, medical products and foodstuffs. The total number of flights dropped by 88%.
