Vintage Wings of Canada : Flugzeugabwehrkanone

Forwarded message - From: Vintage Wings

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

Vintage Wings of Canada : Christmas 1944

Forwarded message - From: Vintage Wings

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

As Christmas comes upon you, please find a minute in your hectic life to give a thought to all those boys so long ago who gave to us their futures. Take just a moment to contemplate the immensity of this gift and the freedoms they offer you still. It will be, by any measure, your finest gift of all this Christmas whether you acknowledge it or not.

Merry Christmas from Vintage Wings of Canada

Vintage Wings of Canada : Operation Overlord Escort

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Vintage Wings

It's been a few months since the 70th anniversary of D-Day. On that day, 70 years ago, Allied soldiers, sailors and airmen pulled off one of the most complicated battle plans ever devised. Now, three months later, we offer up a view of a very special day and the airmen we at Vintage Wings were honoured to honour. Follow this link to learn more:

Vintage Wings of Canada : A Terrible Beauty - the art of Piotr Forkasiewicz

Forwarded message - From: Vintage Wings

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

Today, some of the greatest aviation artists are putting down brushes and oils and palette and creating art with distinctly modern tools – algorithms, photo mixing, and digital paint boxes. They share, collaborate globally and produce works of magic surreality out of the experiences of men long ago lost in aerial battles. Vintage Wings of Canada : One Way Ticket to Duisberg

Forwarded message - From: Vintage Wings

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

When a Maximum Effort raid was called for by Bomber Command, upwards of 600 four-engined bomber crews could find themselves converging on the turning point for the run-in to target – at night! With 600 bombers, timed in groups to cross the target in just twelve minutes, disaster and death were just a second's miscalculation away. Vintage Wings of Canada : Letters From Home

Forwarded message - From: Vintage Wings

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

The RCAF operated only six B-17 Flying Fortresses during the Second World War, but not as offensive weapons. Instead, they were stripped of their guns and, operating from Ottawa, were stuffed with letters and packages for Canadian servicemen fighting in Europe. Their only enemy was the weather, and as you will see, it took a devastating toll. Follow this link to learn more: http://www.vintagewings.ca/Home/tabid/40/language/en-CA/Default.aspx

Vintage Wings of Canada : The Gentle Aviator

Forwarded message - From: Vintage Wings

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

In some of us, the passion for aviation is not just a burning ember so much as a raging fire. Photographer and aviator John Davies was one, for whom the passion was not just a fire, but a conflagration. He was one of our volunteers, and a friend. Vintage Wings of Canada : The Marvelous Torpedo Squadron

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

While many may never forgive the Japanese Navy for its surpise attack at Pearl Harbor, no one can deny the courage, training and skills of the individual pilots involved. At the time, they were the finest carrier aviators in the world. Now, for the first time in English, we hear from Mori Juzo, one of the pilots who put the battleship USS California on the bottom of Pearl Harbor and out of the war for years. Vintage Wings of Canada : The Men Who Fell to Earth

: Vintage Wings

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

One terrible night in 1944, as the moon rose over a sleepy and blacked-out Bradford-on-Avon, England, a burning Canadian Halifax bomber fell from the sky, its crew struggling to free themselves before the end. Vintage Wings of Canada Say it With Sailors

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators

There is an old marketing slogan used by florists worldwide that has been in use for years: "Say it with Flowers!".
