De derde in België gebouwde PROBA satelliet is in de nacht van maandag 6 op dinsdag 7 mei 2013 succesvol in de ruimte gebracht. Vanop de Europese lanceerbasis in Frans-Guyana bracht de tweede Vega draagraket de Proba-V aardobservatiesatelliet samen met de Vietnamese VNREDSat-1 en de Estse ESTCube-1 satellieten probleemloos tot in een lage baan om de Aarde.
