Le groupe d'ingénierie Assystem vient d'annoncer qu'il s'était associé à l'association toulousaine Réplic'Air pour construire et faire enfin voler le célèbre chasseur monomoteur Dewoitine 551. Le contrat de partenariat court sur une durée initiale de deux ans et Assystem a précisé qu'il accompagnera le projet depuis la phase de conception et de fabrication du D551, jusqu'à la campagne d'essais en vol, prévue au 1er semestre 2018.

Dérivé du D520, le D551 est un appareil qui n'a jamais volé, les quelques appareils produits par Dewoitine à Bagnères-de-Bigorre ayant été considérés comme prises de guerre après l'Armistice de juin 1940, puis ferraillés un an plus tard.

« Le projet est éminemment excitant pour les passionnés d'ingénierie et d'aviation que nous sommes. Assystem se retrouve entièrement et partage les valeurs de Réplic'Air : oser relever des défis, aider l'expression des talents individuels et collectifs, utiliser les expertises techniques de chacun. Ce partenariat est aussi un hommage aux pionniers pour l'héritage confié nous permettant de savoir d'où l'on vient pour mieux envisager l'avenir », a déclaré dans un communiqué Dominique Louis, le PDG d'Assystem.

Dans le cadre de ce projet, Assystem va concevoir et réaliser des pièces par fabrication additive métallique, des éléments de support systèmes ainsi que des sous-composants de la structure secondaire et des systèmes mécaniques.

Réplic'Air a commencé a s'intéresser au Dewoitine 551 en 2014 et la construction de l'appareil a commencé un an plus tard. L'avion de chasse sera exposé au salon du Bourget en juin prochain.

Like Tweet Forward Cologne, March 24, 2017   The European Union and South Asia strengthen ties in civil aviation Kick-off of a new technical cooperation project managed by EASA The European Union (EU) and South Asian states celebrated the launch of a new project today to enhance their ties in civil aviation. This four-year project, managed by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), will enhance aviation safety, promote institutional and industrial links, and mitigate the environmental impact of aviation. The project will be implemented with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It was officially launched at the occasion of the Global Aviation Safety forum on Regional Safety Oversight Organizations in Swaziland. Patrick Ky, Executive Director of EASA, said "South Asia has the highest forecast traffic growth of any region in the world over the next 20 years. Europe looks forward to partnering with South Asia to meet the opportunities and challenges this presents." The project will also promote technical cooperation at the regional level and enhance EU-South Asia policy dialogue. The €7.5 million project is funded by the European Union.
