The flying programme for The Duxford Air Show is now confirmed, with a different and diverse range of flying displays booked for each day. From legendary historic aircraft to dynamic aerobatics, there's aerial excitement to wow all the family.

Here are the highlights of the weekend's flying programme:

Saturday 7 September

The must-see moment of Saturday's flying programme is the debut UK air show appearance of the Boeing 747-8F, operated by Stansted Airport-based Global Supply Systems Limited and leased to British
Airways World Cargo, which will make two flypasts over the IWM Duxford airfield. The largest freighter aircraft on the British register, the Boeing will be a magnificent sight as it fills the skies over IWM Duxford.

The Westland Sea King from 22 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at Wattisham Airfield, will perform a dramatic search and rescue demonstration.

Sophisticated aerobatics come from the ever-popular Aerostars and also from the stylish Patrouille de France, the precision aerobatic demonstration team of the French Air Force, who will be opening the flying display. The Patrouille de France was established in 1931 and is the world's oldest, and one of its
 most skilled, demonstration teams.

In the 70th anniversary year of the Dambusters Raid, we're delighted to have the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Avro Lancaster and Supermarine Spitfire perform a poignant commemorative display.

There will be rip-roaring contemporary jet power from the Eurofighter Typhoon from 29 (R) Squadron at RAF Coningsby. Vintage jet power is provided by the North American F-86 Sabre, America's first swept-wing fighter aircraft, which was developed in the late 1940s. This F-86 Sabre is thought to be the world's
 oldest flying jet.

The Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron will display its Canadair CT-133 Silver Star jet trainer aircraft and its pair of de Havilland Vampires, which made such an impact at The Duxford Air Show in 2012.

There will also be a display by four de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunks under the tongue-in-cheek name of The Red Sparrows! The Chipmunk is a versatile aircraft which was the primary trainer aircraft of choice for many of the world's air forces after the Second World War.

Also representing training light aircraft is the Piper J-3 Cub, operated by Skyfever, which is one of the most popular light aircraft of all time. This unique trailer top landing display has to be seen to be believed!

It wouldn't be The Duxford Air Show without a plethora of Spitfires, and we have seven Spitfires taking to the skies, together with a Hispano Buchon (Messerschmitt Bf 109), so a Second World War-style dogfight is bound to ensue!

The Royal Netherlands Air Force Historic Flight will display its North American B-25 Mitchell, an American-manufactured twin-engine bomber which was used during the Second World War and which saw four decades of service.

B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B, resident at IWM Duxford for over 30 years, will fly an elegant display, while The Fighter Collection, also based at IWM Duxford, presents its Grumman F8F Bearcat, Gloster Gladiator biplane and FG-1D Corsair aircraft.
