Thursday, 20 August 1914 was very cloudy & windy over Belgium.
The two Blériots monoplane two-seaters, delivered August 19th, were given to former civil pilots Jules Tyck & Jan Olieslagers.
A German aircraft flew over the Belgian coast, but was shot down by ground fire at Oostburg (Holland) at 08.30. Pilot & observer were interned. Perhaps it was the same aircraft that had been spotted at 0715 at Opwyck, coming from Brussels & heading for Termonde. Later (the same?) an aircraft was seen over Bruges at 0749 heading for Ostende.
Reconnaissance missions carried out: 3
Lts F.Isserentant-P.Hiernaux, II Esc.HF noticed heavy artillery concentrated on the Fort of Andoye. (Hiernaux 3rd from L & Isserentant 4th from L)
