AirCorps Aviayion lance AirCorps Library, un catalogue en ligne dédié aux warbirds et avions anciens

AirCorps Aviation vient de lancer son service AirCorps Library, une bibliothèque en ligne comportant plus de 500 000 plans et manuels de vol ou de maintenance en haute définition, facilement accessibles et imprimables. Le catalogue, qui continuera à s'accroître, peut être recherché par numéro de pièce ou par description.

Le but d'AirCorps est de participer ainsi à la préservation et à la restauration des warbirds et autres avions de collection en facilitant l'accès aux documents d'entretien et d'opérations les concernant. En créant une communauté autour d'AirCorps Library, le groupe espère pouvoir développer son catalogue et faciliter l'entretien des avions anciens, ce qui permettra de les démocratiser.

Le service est accessible pour une somme assez modique, de $25 à $50 selon les abonnements (par groupes d'appareils). Un essai gratuit d'une journée est disponible pour ceux qui souhaitent tester cette offre. Si elle n'est pas la première du genre, elle est incontestablement la plus complète et est soutenue par la superbe réputation d'AirCorps Aviation en matière de restauration de warbirds.

Parmis la récente vague de déclassification de documents de la CIA se trouve le manuel de vol du U-2 datant de 1959.

S'il ne correspond bien entendu pas au manuel de vol de la version actuelle du U-2 en service, cette déclassification permettra aux passionnés de cette période de s'imaginer comment étaient pilotés les U-2 qui ont découvert les missiles soviétiques à Cuba …
