Video "1940 The Italian Air Corps over Britain"

In 1940, Mussolini sent aircraft of the Regia Aeronautica to take part in the Battle of Britain.

The italian aviators were based in Belgium. This short film shows the arrival of the Italian air force at Scharbeek and Fiat CR42's, Fiat G50's and BR'20's (in Chièvres).

18/08 - Famous aviation historian Georges Lecomte has passed away.

George Lecomte, the famous Belgian aviation historian has passed away. Over the years, Georges was responsible for a huge number of publications and his certainly was considered as "the" authority on Belgian aviation. No serious author on the subject could neglect to ask Georges' advice, which he always gave full of enthusiasm. The "Belgian Wings" Website could benefit largely from Georges' expertise and even up to a few weeks ago updates could be made thanks to his precious advice. Belgian Wings and BelgianAviationNews express their condolences to family and relatives.

Breguet was an important French aircraft manufacturer. Belgium used Breguet XIV's and Breguet 10's. Gerard Hartmann already published interesting monographies about French aircraft manufacturers.

Je vous envoie les albums RIAT 1 et 2
Ce meeting Anglais n'a pas son pareil . Nbre. d'avions très important en statique et en vol .
Un meeting Français comme Cambrai réuni aui maxi. 90 avions , y compris les patrouilles .
Le RIAT dans les années 90 dépassait les 400 avoins . Ces dernières années , ce nombre
est  passé à 300 appareils présentés . Très forte participation USAF et étrangère .
Pour les photos entre les avions et le public il y a simplement une corde mais les Anglais sont
très disciplinés pas comme chez nous ou il y a qq. fois 2 rangées de barrières et des gendarmes
tous les 10 m .
Le comble , c'est un organisme privé qui organise ce meeting . Le RIAT .
Je l'ai fais 10 fois et toutes les présentations en vol sont sur camescope ( je filme depuis 90 )
c'est pour celà que vous n'avez pas de photos aériennes . Je fais du numérique depuis 6 ans .
