Walter Pieters posted in Friends of the League of WWI Aviation Historians Walter Pieters 8:16pm Aug 2 it is now 100 years since Belgian Compagnie des Aviateurs was mobilized. 175 men (including CO, staff and flying and ground personell). The company had 4 squadrons of 4 HF20-aircraft each. The pilot school counted eight aircaft, meaning that the Compagnie des Aviateurs could boast 24 aircraft at the start of hostilities. CO was Capitaine-Commandant Emile Mathieu.
