The Ghost Lakes of Manitoba

Ladies and Gentlemen Aviators
In the province of Manitoba, there are more than 110,000 lakes. In 1947, the province named 25 previously un-named lakes after 26 decorated Manitoban airmen and soldiers who had died in the Second World War. This is the story of the 15 Royal Canadian Air Force airmen who were honoured then. Today, 4,200 lakes, bays, islands and other geographic features in Manitoba are named for war dead from the province. Click on this link to learn more.
