Nous sommes quelques passionnés d'histoire du patrimoine militaire du 1er Wing de la Force Aérienne Belge à Beauvechain.

Ce patrimoine est composé de matériel volant, roulant et de tous autres éléments qu'utilisait le personnel de l'Unité.

L'atelier oeuvre exclusivement au profit du Centre Historique de cette Base.

Nous proposons et réalisons des dioramas à l'échelle réelle.  Nous mettons en scène ce patrimoine tel que le personnel l'a utilisé à l'époque.

Happy Birthday Belgian Air Force and Beauvechain Air Base

 

This October 24th, the Belgian Air Force and the Beauvechain Air Base organized a ceremony to celebrate their common anniversary. In a typical Air Force Spirit, the CO of Comopsair addressed the troops and the assistance. He reminded the evolution of Comopsair since her modest beginnings until our days. and the essential roles of the flexible and effective units which are yesterday as today in the service of the country. The planned flypast was limited  to the passage of F-16’s due to the meteorological bad conditions. The CO of the base then revealed a monument constituted by a wing of F-104 which will remind the presence of the base since 70 years. The day ended by a reception  where  former airmen, current aviators and friends celebrated this memorable event.

Belgian NH-90 MTH helicopters reach Initial Operational Capability (IOC)

Second NH90 TTH RN06 delivered to Beauvechain on Friday 24 January 2013.

On Friday 24 January 2014 the second NH90 TTH for the Belgian Air Force - RN06 - has been delivered to Beauvechain airbase from Airbus Helicopters (former Eurocopter) at Marignane (F.). In mid-2014 a third TTH and the first NH90 NFH are expected to arrive in Belgium.

Second NH90 arrives at Beauvechain later this month.

In an interview with the Belgian Newspaper l'Avenir,  Colonel Dejaeger, base commander of Beauvechain airbase, has announced that the second NH90 TTH will arrive later this month (January 2014) and that a major tactical evaluation exercise focussed on helicopter operations will be organised on his base during the month of May 2014.

On Thursday 17 October 2013, twelve new pilots have received their wings from Comopsair Commander Major Gen Claude Van de Voorde. Seven of them have received the specialised "Jet" training syllabus to become a fighter pilot, a single pilot is to become a transport pilot, while the three others are future helicopter pilots. The promotion has taken Capt Georges Jaspis - DFC (609 Squadron RAF) as godfather.

The new pilots are: 
"Jet" course: 
Lt Renaud Petitjean, Olt Lt Floris Kocken (Nl.), Olt Ralp Claessen (Nl.), Olt Julien de Soignies, Olt, Antoine Geyr, Olt Xavier Remacle, Olt Gert-Jan Van Cauwenbergh and Olt Joris Waterschoot.
"Transport" Course:
Lt Gilles Van Dyck (Luxembourg)
"Helicopter" course:
Kpt Katleen T'Hooft, Lt Stijn Soenens and Olt Jens Loobuyck

 The new pilots together with the two daughters of their godfather Capt Georges Jaspis and displaying the flag of his former wartime squadron; N° 609 Sq RAF.
