Plane of Fame Museum Living History Event Saturday March 1st

'LONG RANGE ESCORT MISSIONS'
P-51 Mustang_March 1st Event art
EVENT: LIVING HISTORY FLYING DAY
SATURDAY, MARCH 1st ~ 10am
The Living History Day will begin at 10am. The topic for the March 1st event is Long Range Escort Missionsfeaturing the North American P-51 Mustang. Captain Wayne L. Coleman and 2nd Lt. Raymond Biel are the featured speakers. The P-51 Mustang will be on display and perform a flight demonstration (when possible). The Membership Sponsored raffle flight will be announced at 12:00 noon.  READ MORE...
EVENT SPEAKERS
Captain Wayne L. Coleman
As part of the 82nd Squadron, 78th Fighter Group at Duxford, Wayne flew the first of his 75 combat missions dive-bombing and strafing in support of the Normandy invasion. Wayne shot down three Fw190s in a single mission and later a Me262 jet.  READ MORE...
2nd Lt. Raymond P. Biel
Ray was one of 30 pilots who flew on the atomic bomb missions over Japan. He co-piloted the B-29 called ‘Full House’ that carried out weather reconnaissance over Nagasaki and Hiroshima.  READ MORE...

Moderator and Aviation Historian, will also join the presentation.
The Membership sponsored raffle flight will be in the P-51 Mustang after the presentation. All current Planes of Fame Members attending the event are able to enter the raffle.

Executive Producer & Director Liz Watkins will give a short presentation followed by the film showing entitled “Pearl Harbor, One Last Goodbye”, a documentary film capturing stories from survivors. Six men, 70 years later, return to Hawaii to relive the memories of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. There will be a Q&A session after film. READ MORE...
