Koksijde - Aan alles komt een einde, ook aan de levensduur van een helikopter. Donderdagmiddag 29 augustus wordt op de basis van Koksijde dan ook afscheid genomen van de Sea King RS03, dit na meer dan 37 jaar dienst bij het 40ste Smaldeel.

The performance of the early Halifax models was not particularly impressive, but installation of more powerful Bristol Hercules engines in the Mark III improved performance greatly. The first RCAF squadron to fly the Halifax was Number 405 which began in April 1942. With a bomb load of 13,000 pounds it had a range of over 1,000 miles. La réplique en réduction du célèbre monomoteur à aile haute de la
deuxième guerre mondiale était la vedette colombienne du salon américain
du LSA de Sebring. L'un des deux plus récents avions homologués LSA aux
USA est une réplique du Fieseler FI-156 Storch en réduction (75%).
L'appareil est construit en Colombie par la société Criquet Aviation et
est importé aux USA par U-Fly-it. Il est proposé à 88 000 $ prêt à
voler. Le kit est commercialisé 29 500 $. Le Storch colombien a fait
sensation au deuxième jour (...)
