Bekijk de webversie SV-4B Nieuwsbrief 2/2016 Met deze driemaandelijkse nieuwsbrief proberen we zoveel mogelijk informatie en foto's te verzamelen van het na-oorlogse Belgische opleidingsvliegtuig SV-4B. Foto's en informatie zijn dan ook steeds meer dan welkom, en worden gepubliceerd op onze SV-4B website. Door te klikken op de titel of de foto kom je op de pagina terecht. Belangrijk bericht : vanwege uitbreidingen en onderhoud aan de ontschepingsvloer op Luchthaven Antwerpen zal er in 2016 geen Stampe Fly In georganiseerd worden. Zoektocht naar SV-4B V36 (C-GSVB) Op onze zoektocht naar SV-4B V36 kregen we volgende informatie van een andere SV-4B piloot, Clark Seaborn : Stampe V36 has been owned by John Robert Saunders since 1977, and suffered an engine failure in that year due to water in the fuel.  It was damaged in the forced landing in a swamp near Wawa Ontario.  It has been dismantled since and the airframe is presently stored in Mr. Saunders house.  The aeroplane was purchased by Mr. Saunders, who was a Canadian F-104 pilot at that time, from Bob Kadenoff another F-104 pilot.  It was painted green and white in colour.  Unfortunately no photos are available.  The engine has been loaned to the air museum near Victoria BC and is presently on display there.  Mr. Saunders is a former airline captain newly retired and lives at Saanichton British Columbia Canada. An interesting historical note, Mr. Saunders father was in the air force during WW2 and shot down over Berlin and became a prisoner of war.  He was involved in the prison break at Stalag Luft 3. Mr. Saunders has his father`s flying and prison log books, and is planning a visit to the old prison camp later this year to document some of his father`s history. Intussen konden we Robert Saunders contacteren, en dit liet hij ons weten :  I still own the Stampe C-GSVB but it has been disassembled for the last 38 years.  It is stored in my workshop and I was hoping to rebuild it in my retirement.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it when it was flying.  We didn't have iPhones in our pockets back then. I still have most of the parts except the engine which is in a local museum. V60 PH-OPA Low pass in 2013 SV-4B V60 vliegt in Nederland onder registratie PH-OPA. Het toestel onderging diverse restauraties na enkele crashes. In 2013 was het opgemerkte verschijning op het vliegveld van Teuge met deze low pass. Interludium met SV-4B In de jaren 70 kon je de toenmalige BRT "filmpjes zien die werden uitgezonden vóór het nieuws van 20u. Interludiums waren dat. Eén van die interludiums ging over de SV-4B die de zwevers sleepte van Luchtkadetten. Met dank aan Davy Vandergeten voor dit stukje nostalgie. De "verkeerde" pinguin op V49 Misschien is het nog niemand opgevallen of heeft niemand het al opgemerkt maar op SV-4B V49 kijkt de Pinguin op de stuurboordzijde (rechts) de verkeerde kant op. Fout of moedwillig ? Misschien heeft iemand er een verklaring voor. V30 OO-MON "Le Pti Van" SV-4B V30 OO-MON veranderde de laatste jaren diverse keren van eigenaar. De huidige eigenaar is Brig. Gen. Vl. op rust Guy Van Eeckhoudt, die het toestel een nieuwe beschildering gaf en de naam "Le Pti Van". Waarom ? Lees het volledige verhaal op de website. V41 in vroeger tijden Zwart-wit fotos zijn meestal oude fotos. Hubert Sermon bezorgde ons deze oude foto van SV-4B V41 in flight. Het toestel ging overkop in 2013 maar is intussen opnieuw volledig vliegwaardig, zodat we er ook een nieuwe foto bijplaatsen van de V41 boven Antwerpen. V19 in originele oranje kleur Een bevriende website die zeker een bezoek waard is, is de Belgian Wings webste. Daar vonden we deze prachtige foto van SV-4B V19 in oranje kleuren, mono seat cabrio. Brussels Airport organises the largest horse transport on a single flight in Europe

At noon, 86 horses left for the Middle East from Brussels Airport. This is the largest export of horses in one aircraft for many years. Thanks to the expertise of Intradco Global, and the creation of appropriate infrastructure at Brussels Airport for this exceptional transport, the horses were relaxed when the flight took off. The mixture of Warmbloods and Arabian horses are travelling in one of the largest cargo aircraft in operation today, a Boeing 747-400F.

Ethiopian Airlines Cargo relaunches cargo flights at Brussels Airport from 26 March

Ethiopian Airlines Cargo is set to operate 12 full cargo flights a week out of Brussels Airport starting from 26 March. In recent weeks, the airport has been conducting intensive talks with the carrier about returning to Brussels Airport after the Federal Government had inked a new bilateral agreement with Ethiopia, enabling the carrier to undertake direct flights from Belgium to Dubai, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
