Brussels Airport this afternoon officially reopened the departures hall during a short reopening ceremony. Following the ceremony a few hundred passengers could check in from the departures hall again. The reopening of the departures hall is an important symbol of the recovery of our country a mere 40 days after the 22 March attacks that hit the airport in its heart.

Brussels Airport partially reopens the departure hall on 1 May

The departure hall at Brussels Airport will be partially open on 1 May. It took less than 40 days for the Brussels Airport staff who worked relentlessly, to restore a large part of the departure hall for its passengers. Following an opening ceremony, the passengers of three flights departing on Sunday afternoon will be able to check in via the departure hall. As of Monday, the check-in procedure for all flights will be divided between the departure hall and the temporary structure.

Pour la huitième année consécutive, la Défense a organisé une journée à destination des jeunes afin de leur proposer des opportunités d'emploi et de carrière au sein de la Composante Air. Ce concept, baptisé Fly to your Dream, permet aux jeunes âgés de 16 à 33 ans de venir découvrir les métiers de l'aviation militaire de plus près. Beauvechain Air Base, Tuesday April 5, 2016. The Belgian Defence has organized its eighth job day. The main goal of this concept, called Fly to your Dream, is to give to the young men and women, aged from 16 till 33, the opportunity to discover all jobs related to aviation inside the Belgian Air Component. It was also possible for the young people to meet military pilots, specialists and technicians and ask them any accurate questions they wanted to. ENGLISH TRANSLATION COMING SOON Le même jour, mais cette fois-ci en soirée, la base aérienne de Beauvechain s'animait encore. Pour la première fois en Belgique, le public était invité à venir photographier les aéronefs présents sur la base au cours d'une magnifique séance crépusculaire. The same day, in the evening, another event took place on the base. It was the very first time in Belgium that the public has been invited to a sunset photoshoot. It was a magnificent way to take unusual pictures of Belgian military aircraft.
