Il y a plusieurs raisons à cela: l'âge de nos collaborateurs, les obligations professionnelles, les raisons de santé, … Il est difficile de trouver de nouveaux rédacteurs pour suivre mensuellement l'actualité aéronautique belge ou pour rédiger des articles sur l'histoire de l'aviation belge. C'est pourquoi nous allons nous concentrer davantage sur la base de données. Les ajouts les plus importants à la base de données Hangar Flying du patrimoine aéronautique belge sont prêts pour vous. En plus des mises à jour de ces données sur notre patrimoine, nous continuons à publier des articles sporadiques sur l'aviation civile et militaire belge. De eerste helikopter die in België werd geregistreerd was de Hiller 360 OO-MAT. De echtgenote van eigenaar Léon Bekaert doopte het toestel op 10 juli 1950 in Ukkel. Het zou dienst doen als vliegende reclame voor Beka-matrassen en voor transporten tussen de verschillende vestigingen van het bedrijf. Even zou de Hiller ook het gezelschap krijgen van een luchtschip. Een leuk verhaal over matrassen en luchtvaart. En savoir plus sur notre site Web     PATRIMOINE Fouga Magister Graf van Kapt-Vl Roger Vandhelsen, Fouga Magister MT10   Kapitein Vlieger Roger Vandhelsen was een van de eerste piloten van de Rode Duivels op Fouga Magister. Hij verongelukte op 10 mei 1957 tijdens een oefenvlucht van het team en stortte neer te Bevingen. En savoir plus sur notre site Web     RCAF Totem als aandenken voor de aanwezigheid van de Canadese Luchtmacht in Virton   De basis Marville in Frankrijk was gedurende twaalf jaren de thuis voor een deel van de Canadese Luchtmacht in Europa. Door de nabijheid van België vestigden een aantal Canadese families zich ook in Virton. Bij hun vertrek in 1967 lieten de Canadezen er een gedenkteken na dat herinnert aan hun aanwezigheid in deze Belgische gemeente. En savoir plus sur notre site Web     61 OTU, Spitfire Gedenkplaat op het geboortehuis van P/O Jean Noizet, Spitfire P7444 61 OTU   P/O Jean Noizet rust op het ereperk van de Belgische Luchtmacht op de begraafplaats van Brussel in Evere. Hij kwam op 22 augustus om het leven toen de Spitfire P7444 61 OTU nabij Newport (UK) neerstortte bij een trainingsvlucht. En savoir plus sur notre site Web     Possum, Potier, SOE Gedenkplaat voor Majoor-vlieger Edgard Potier   Op een huis in Florenville is een gedenkplaat aangebracht voor Majoor-vlieger Edgard Potier. Hij diende voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog bij de Militaire Luchtvaart als piloot en maakte zo de Achtiendaagse Veldtocht mee. Later sloot hij zich aan bij het verzet maar was gedwongen om eind 1941 naar Groot-Brittannië uit te wijken. Hij koos voor een opleiding als geheim agent en werd gedropt in bezet gebied om een ontsnappingslijn op te zetten. Hij werd eind 1943 gearresteerd en raakte zwaar gewond bij een poging tot zelfmoord om aan nog ergere foltering te ontsnappen. Hij overleed op 11 januari 1944. Hij kwam om het leven bij de crash van Savoia-Marchetti S.73 OO-AGN op 10 december 1935. Hij rust op de begreaafplaats van Schaarbeek te Evere. [Brussels Airport] More than 2 million passengers at Brussels Airport in June

n June, for the second month running, Brussels Airport welcomed more than two million passengers, an increase of 17% compared to June 2022.

The run-up to the summer holidays has led to large numbers of departing travellers at the end of the month. In June, cargo volumes showed a small decrease of 4% compared to the same period in 2022.  Passengers: +17% compared to June 2022  In June, Brussels Airport welcomed 2,021,757 passengers, which is a 17% increase compared to January 2022. For the second month running passenger numbers exceeded two million. The run-up to the summer holidays in Dutch-language schools played an important part in this, with large numbers of departing passengers towards the end of the month.  The share of departing transfer passengers in June increased to 15%. That is 33% more than in 2022. Brussels Airport is and remains an important hub from Europe and North America to Africa.  The ten most visited countries in June were Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Turkey, France, the United States, Portugal, Morocco and the United Kingdom, respectively.  Cargo traffic: down by 4%  In June, flown cargo volumes at Brussels Airport decreased by 4%, totalling to 50,136 tonnes. Overall cargo volumes declined by 10% compared to June 2022, to a total of 59,218 tonnes. This decline is largely due to a 33% decrease in trucked volumes.  The full-cargo segment dropped by 21%, in line with the global trend, while belly cargo showed a rise (+7%), as did the integrator services (+10%).   The main import regions are Asia (-11% compared to June 2022), Africa (+7% compared to 2022) and North America (-6% compared to 2022). For export, Asia is also in first place (-11% compared 2022), followed by North America (+0.2%) and Africa (-16%).  Flight movements: +9% compared to June 2022  The number of flight movements in June 2023 rose by 9% compared to 2022. The number of passenger flights increased by 14% compared to 2022, with on average 142 passengers on board compared to 139 in June 2022. The number of cargo flights decreased by 8% compared to June 2022.  About Brussels Airport   Brussels Airport is one of the most important airports in Europe.
