Brussels Airport inaugurates triple boarding bridge with a one-off A380 flight by Emirates

Today, Brussels Airport has inaugurated the new triple passenger boarding bridge. For the occasion, Emirates carried out a one-off flight with an Airbus A380. Thanks to the new bridge, the airport can offer its passengers even greater comfort and passengers will be able to board and disembark from larger aircraft much faster.

Brussels Airport receives record 5.2 million passengers in the first quarter

Brussels Airport achieved an all-time record of more than 5.2 million passengers in the first quarter of 2018. Long haul and transfer traffic in particular have risen sharply due to the considerable expansion of Brussels Airport's intercontinental network in the past year. Total cargo tonnage at the airport increased by 2.3% in the first quarter compared to the same period last year, owing to a sharp increase in belly cargo and trucked air cargo.

SPITFIRE AR501 SOARS TO THE SKIES

The Shuttleworth Collection's Spitfire AR501 soared successfully into the skies for its maiden flight, following a full restoration project, at 15.47 on Tuesday 20 March 2018, in the hands of experienced warbird pilot Stu Goldspink. The pilot reported that the aircraft is handling beautifully and all systems functioning correctly with just a couple of minor adjustments required. A second, longer, test flight was carried out the next morning confirming the aircraft is behaving well. The flight test programme will continue over the next few weeks.
