[Vintage_and_Warbirds_Pictures] 1956 North American Aviation F-100F Super Sabre 56-3844

Forwarded message - From: Steve Link steven_link@msn.com [Vintage_and_Warbirds_Pictures]

Yesterday the Collings Foundation's Vietnam Memorial Flight launched the 1956 North American Aviation F-100F Super Sabre 56-3844 - N26AZ, Painted as: 63-0951, Detachment 1/416th Tactical Fighter Squadron fast FACs "Misty 01" from her base at Ellington Field (KEFD).Hun 56-3844 is one of only 2 F-100s that still flies. Having recently finished a 100 hour inspection, and sporting new American wing tips and fences to replace the Danish electronic countermeasure "pods" that were wingtip mounted, it was a good time for a shake down flight.
Rick Sharpe and Chris Jones took off and flew for 45 minutes. They went out over the Houston Ship Channel and down to the Gulf of Mexico and came back to perform an overhead into 3 touch and gos, and then a full stop. Once recovered, they reported no squawks!
