Welcome to our Bronco Newsletter!

Bronco Demo Team was formed in 2010 by a group of OV-10 Bronco enthousiasts. Our main goal is to maintain a living memory of this significant historic airplane and present the Bronco fully operational in its natural environment - flying through the sky - at airshows worldwide.

Enjoy, fly and live safe!

2017 Theme: Bringing Poppies From Flanders Field

The Bronco Demo Team's OV-10 will be bringing Poppies from Flanders Fields to venues and airshows all over Europe in 2017; supporting a message of peace and reconciliation in remembrance of the sacrifice by so many 100 years ago

The Bronco Demo Team is based at Kortrijk-Wevelgem airport situated just 12 nm East from the Ypres salient. The airfield was first used during World War I, initially by German fighter squadrons and later, during the advance of the Allied Powers leading to the end of the conflict, by the Royal Air Force.

As a commemoration of The Great War, the Bronco Demo Team has adorned their OV-10 Bronco in a truly amazing new "Poppy" livery. The Poppies and "LEST WE FORGET, 1914-18" graphics reflect light differently when the aircraft moves, producing a different shine and brightness at various angles. The effect is outright awesome and very unique!

Our OV-10 Bronco will carry actual Poppy seeds to venues and airshows in 2017, underlining theme. The seed packets will be offered for sale at the shows, with each bag individually marked with flight date and show name. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
The 2017 season is certainly looking to become another excellent one judging by the number of enquires and bookings already received at this early stage.
We are already looking forward to meeting you at venues around Europe and the United Kingdom this year!

Poppies keyrings, patches, stickers, t-shirts. From May: new caps in stock!

The May 2014 issue of FlyPast, Britain’s biggest selling aviation monthly, brings you the in-depth story of one of the biggest warbird stories to reach British shores for many years. Backed up by stunning air-to-air photography, we speak to the Canadian organisation that is bringing Avro Lancaster B.X FM213 to the UK this summer, where it will fly alongside the world’s only other airworthy Lancaster, the BBMF’s PA474. This once in a lifetime tour is not to be missed, and FlyPast has the full story behind it.

FLYING FORTRESS
FlyPast also pays tribute to another iconic World War Two bomber, the four-engined Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. Our 25-page Spotlight section profiles the machine, the men behind it, its use in combat, and features exclusive colour artwork.

COUNTDOWN TO D-DAY
As we approach the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy, we present a special section detailing how both sides planned their actions in the days and weeks leading up to June 6, 1944.

STIRLING OF THE LAKE
Lt Col Bengt Fransson recounts the tragic tale of a Short Stirling lost during the liberation of Norway.

AUSTRALIAN WARBIRDS
John Parker visits Ross Pay’s expanding stable of historic aircraft in New South Wales.

BRONCO RETURNS
The Bronco Demo Team is making a welcome return to the airshow circuit. Ben Dunnell talks to pilot Tony du Bruyn about his recovery from an accident and future plans for the team.

We also take a special trip behind-the-scenes, visiting the RAF Museum’s rarely-seen storage facility at Stafford, and wrap up warm for two Cold War-themed night photography shoots at Farnborough and Bruntingthorpe. Shlomo Aloni looks at the unlikely use of the Harvard as an attack aircraft in Israeli hands, and we bring you news of the mighty Douglas DC-10 bowing out of civil service, and a Hawker Typhoon on its way to Canada.

Bronco Demo team on facebook : Good news from Tony

I am still in awe of how strong a will can be and feel humble for the wonder of life…

Visited Tony Friday evening and got following update on his progress:
1. Every day he is sitting in his chair, sometimes even for 6 hours
2. He has been for a stroll down the hall (supported by only 2 nurses!)
3. His room has free entry now and no more protective gear needs to be worn
4. He is looking great and gained some weight
5. Since this week his computer is with him
6. He asked –and got- his computer
7. And he said he wanted to go home and sleep in his own bed :-D

After every visit I am amazed on how well he is doing, on how his body is taking up the pace of normal live again and on how my brother is a fighter.

Dear friends, I will be taking a short vacation and leave Tony in the caring hands of Edith, Lynn, Thomas, Ruth and my mum.
As Tony is progressing very well I think that this will probably be the last time I am posting an update :-(
Next message that will appear here will surely be typed by 'The Man' himself.

Take care,
Sonja
