"Le 70ème anniversaire du Débarquement de Normandie vient d'être fêté. Dans la foulée, notre ville de Liège était libérée les 7 et 8 septembre 1944. Ensuite, Liège a traversé les durs mois de l'Offensive des Ardennes et connu les V1 et les V2.

Aujourd'hui, les Vétérans américains encore en vie, qui étaient nos libérateurs, sont pratiquement tous nonagénaires. Ils sont les dernières mémoires vivantes de cette époque.  Aujourd'hui, je vais sur quatre-vingt-un ans. Le petit garçon que j'étais à l'époque est devenu lui aussi une des dernières mémoires de ce temps-là. Je souhaiterais faire un recueil avec les souvenirs des personnes qui ont connu, comme moi, cette période. Après moi, et après ceux qui seraient intéressés par mon projet, il n'y aura plus personne pour raconter "la petite Histoire" de l'Histoire de 1944. The number of rockets that hit the target: the port, was merely negligible, as well as the damage they caused to it. A complete information ban by the allied military forces (under American and British command) about the bombings, could implicate that those were not unhappy with the inaccuracy of the missiles. V-Wapens voor Antwerpen 

In september 1944 werd Antwerpen bevrijd. Na de bevrijding kregen de Antwerpenaren nog een verschrikking te verduren, de Duitsers bestookten de stad met hun nieuwste 'vergeldingswapens', de V-bommen, in een poging om Antwerpen met de grond gelijk te maken en de geallieerde aanvoer van oorlogsgoederen te verhinderen. De maandenlange terreur duurde tot 28 maart 1945. De tol voor Antwerpen was zwaar, 4.500 doden, 7.000 gewonden en 50.000 vernielde woningen.
