A voir sur Youtube (et à éventuellement diffuser), un extrait de 1min 50 sec du court métrage de 17 minutes tourné en 1958 (l'année de l'Expo universelle de Bruxelles !) par Jan Botermans intitulé "La Belgique dans le ciel"

Ce court-métrage est un de ceux (une douzaine) qui figurent sur un DVD en vente à la boutique RTBF ( http://boutique.rtbf.be/index.php?module=catalogue%3Earticles&page=viewarticle&cat_id=10&art_id=2612)
On y voit l'aérodrome de Saint-Hubert à l'époque où les remorqueurs étaient encore des Tiger Moth et où il y avait une baraque en bois à la place de l'actuelle tour de contrôle.
A noter aussi l'antique pompe à essence. Je n'ai pas pu identifier les modèles de planeur utilisés à l'époque, ni les personnes qu'on voit dans ce clip, à part l'instructeur, Jos Vermeiren qu'on reconnaît très bien (il n'a pas tellement changé en un demi-siècle :-) ). J'ai volé avec lui en Cessna à Deurne au début des années 1970 et on le voit encore régulièrement à Saint-Hubert.
Si d'autres personnes parmi les plus anciens pouvaient apporter leur concours à l'identification des autres personnes qu'on voit dans ce clip, cela pourrait être sympa !

A few days ago I was given the privilege of flying this big, barking "old school" piece of American aviation technology after not having flown one in 36 years, not since my Bristow Helicopter days in the Persian Gulf in 1974. Even then, the aircraft we were flying were more than 20 years old. This is the first run-up and trip around the patch after the current owner, Hale Gurland, completed the big Sikorsky's 2010 annual inspection.
