Airbus Military has announced that the A400M has completed its first set of unpaved runway tests at Cottbus-Drewitz airfield in Germany. The company made the announcement in a 28 May, 2012 statement.

2 Lt Gilbert Malrait Memorial

Gilbert was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on 07/07/1919.   His father Albert Malrait was from Ronse (Belgium) and his mother Anna Ellen Bradley was from Blackburn, England. Gilbert's father, Albert, emigrated to the U.S. on April 20, 1909 through Liverpool on the ship SS Ivernia.
On October 24,1940 he joined the army in Providence RI and was assigned to the medical service. His military serial number was 11011541.

In March 2012, a very interesting seminar about aircraft restoration was held in the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace in Paris.

The organizers had the good idea to publish the recordings of the presentation on the net.

This is in French but quite interesting.
