Restoring the Spitfire Mk XIV - Bringing a Legendary Warbird Back to Life
Witness the incredible rebirth of a legendary Spitfire Mk XIV, restored from scrapyard relic to a high-flying icon of WWII aviation history. Discover the secrets behind Britain's most famous fighter.

Join us inside the bustling Cywell Aerodrome, where a rare Spitfire FR-14 - once a daring reconnaissance plane deep over Nazi Germany - is painstakingly rebuilt for the skies. From salvaging its battered fuselage and sourcing the mighty Griffon engine, to adapting vintage wings and meticulously replicating authentic camouflage, every step of the restoration is a tribute to wartime engineering and the brave pilots who flew these missions. You'll meet Richard Grace and his dedicated team as they tackle tight deadlines, rare parts, and the technical challenges of reviving a machine that last flew in the 1950s.

Through rare color footage and heartfelt interviews, this documentary delves into the Spitfire's transformation from Battle of Britain hero to high-speed spy plane, and how its legacy endures for new generations of aviators and enthusiasts. Experience the thrill of a first engine run, the tension of the maiden test flight, and the powerful stories of those whose lives were forever shaped by this remarkable aircraft. Whether you're a history buff, an aviation enthusiast, or just love stories of triumph against the odds, this is a journey not to be missed.
