Edinburgh, Basel and New York new additions to the Brussels Airlines winter schedule

During the winter season, from October 28 to March 31, Brussels Airlines connects its hub in Brussels with about 60 destinations. This offer is complemented by dozens of other destinations, served daily by codeshare partners.
Big newcomer to the winter timetable 2012/2013 is Edinburgh. The Scottish capital will be served 6 times per week starting October 28. The launch price of €99, taxes included, is very attractive for those who want to discover the rich history and culture of Edinburgh and the north of Great Britain.
The airport Basel-Mulhouse, located on the border between France, Switzerland and Germany, also appears for the first time in the winter schedule and is operated eleven times per week by Brussels Airlines.
New York, Africa and Asia
It goes without saying that Brussels Airlines’ new scheduled service to New York, which was successfully launched in June, is also included in the intercontinental flight offer for this winter. Brussels Airlines serves the destination daily with Airbus A330, equipped with the newest in-flight comfort. It is expected that Brussels Airlines’ first transatlantic destination will again attract many city trippers this winter.
On the African continent Brussels Airlines will increase its flight frequency to Kigali (Rwanda) subject to government approval. The East African destination will be served 4 times instead of 3 times a week starting end of October.  The previously announced launch of a scheduled service to Mombasa (Kenya) has been cancelled because of administrative reasons.
Thanks to collaboration with partner Korongo Airlines, Brussels Airlines can now offer a smooth connection to Lubumbashi (Katanga region). The second largest Congolese city can be reached with a domestic Korongo Airlines flight that connects perfectly with Brussels Airlines’ Brussels-Kinshasa flight on Mondays and Fridays.
There’s also good news for those planning a beach holiday in Gambia. Belgian citizens don’t require anymore an international passport to enter the country. Brussels Airlines flies 4 times weekly to the Gambian capital Banjul this winter.
Thanks to a codeshare agreement with Star Alliance partner Thai Airways, Brussels is also directly connected to Bangkok several times a week.
