LES F-16 BELGES EN AFGHANISTAN Notre confrère Benoît Denet vient de terminer un magnifique livre. Cela représente quatre années de travail et de nombreux entretiens de pilotes et personnels de la Composante Air. Il nous fait découvrir le rôle des équipages et des F-16 belges déployés en Afghanistan de septembre 2008 à octobre 2014. Rares sont les livres qui évoquent l'aviation militaire belge en opérations extérieures et plus rares encore lorsqu'il s'agit des quinze dernières années. C'est à ce titre que le livre de Benoit Denet est véritablement exceptionnel. Il y décrit une opération récente et, grâce aux nombreux témoignages, retrace les missions de guerre de l'intérieur, au plus près de l'action. Ce livre ravira tous les passionnés d'aviation militaire autant que les amateurs de belles images, car les photographies prises dans le ciel afghan sont superbes !

Our colleague Benoît Denet has finished the writing of a magnificent book. From the moment he started this project, four years ago, he has met many pilots and military people of the Belgian Air Component. In this book, we discover the role of the Belgian crews and F-16s deployed from September 2008 to October 2014 in Afghanistan. Very few books have been written about Belgian military aviation and its external operations and even fewer about actual missions of the last fifteen years. This makes the book of Benoit Denet really exceptional. He tells us the story of a recent operation and, thanks to the numerous testimonials of pilots, he shows the war missions from the inside and close to the action. This book will delight all the military aviation enthusiasts just as well as the amateurs of beautiful pictures, because photos taken in the Afghan sky are simply wonderful!
