Record summer with 2.5 million passengers

In August, Brussels Airport welcomed nearly 2.5 million passengers, a rise of 7.6% compared to the same month in 2016. This is a new airport record for the month of August. Cargo transport saw a growth of 1.8% in comparison with the same month last year.

Sinds 1968 bevindt zich in het 'boekendorp' Redu in de Belgische Ardennen een bijzonder centrum van de Europese ruimtevaartorganisatie. Met de 50ste verjaardag van het centrum in zicht heeft ESA beslist om haar Redu Centre anders te gaan noemen. De nieuwe naam European space Security and Education Centre of kortweg ESEC benadrukt de belangrijke rol die het in deze nieuwe domeinen zal spelen en legt meteen een verband met de activiteiten die er al plaatsvonden.
