Dans le cadre de sa demande d'informations sur les nouveaux investissements à l'aéroport de Charleroi, la DG Concurrence de la Commission européenne fait mention, dans son courrier envoyé aux autorités régionales, de la construction d'une deuxième piste sur le site de l'aéroport.

La Commission européenne a réfuté lundi avoir été piégée par un poisson d'avril en adressant à la Région wallonne une série de questions relatives aux investissements qu'elle programme à l'aéroport de Charleroi, comme l'évoquaient samedi l'Echo et le Morgen.

Figured someone out there had some love and respect for the restored 109s flying around. Apparently a 109 which was recently at a Danish airshow in Roskilde had some engine problems and did an emergency belly landing outside the Roskilde airport. Really is a shame with these old planes

In the comments section for our recent story on the first flight of the world's only flying Mosquito, Warbirds News reader Paul Smith, tipped us off about another Mosquito that will soon be returning to the air. In a long-running restoration effort the crew at Victoria Air Maintenance, Ltd. in North Saanich, near Victoria, British Columbia have gotten a de Havilland Mosquito whipped into shape in preparation for a return to the skies over western Canada.

De frêles et dangereuses machines en tubes et toiles avec une hélice actionnée par un bruyant moteur de tondeuse à gazon… Les clichés ont la dent dure et ceux qui collent au monde de l’ULM aussi. Et pourtant, cela fait plus de 30 ans que les ultralégers parcourent les cieux de Belgique ou d’ailleurs. L'Echo : Ces pilotes belges qui ont volé sur Typhoon

La  Belgique est à l’honneur au sein du numéro d’août-septembre du magazine aéronautique « Aerojournal », publié par les éditions Caraktère. Il publie en effet un volumineux dossier,  rédigé par Luc Vangansbeke, qui rend hommage aux pilotes belges qui ont eu le Hawker Typhoon comme monture. Ceux du 609 Squadron. Soit une cinquantaine de pilotes venus de Belgique pour rejoindre la Royal Air Force et qui ont réussi à apprivoiser la « brute » à la réputation douteuse. Notamment du fait de ses « maladies de jeunesse » : un empennage qui avait tendance à se détacher en piqué et un moteur Sabre qui s’arrêtait sans prévenir.
