La mission du cargo spatial "belge" touche à sa fin

La mission du cinquième et dernier vaisseau cargo de l'ESA vers la station spatiale internationale se terminera le mois prochain. Le cargo spatial – baptisé du nom du scientifique belge Georges Lemaître – plongera alors dans l'atmosphère terrestre pour s'y consumer, non sans avoir au préalable réalisé d'importantes mesures scientifiques.

The F-35s and about 1,200 personnel are scheduled to arrive at RAF Lakenheath in 2020.

WASHINGTON, January 9 — The US Air Force will base the first F-35 Joint Strike Fighter group in Europe at Royal Air Force station (RAF) Lakenheath in the United Kingdom, the Department of Defense announced Thursday.

“The US Air Force will permanently base the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter in Europe and the secretary of defense has selected RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom as the first location to host two squadrons of F-35s,” Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Derek Chollet said at a press conference.

Mostly to hit tactical objects like bridges, railways, constructionworks, and V1 or V2 launch pads.
