Ne pas faire l'erreur de transformer les aéroports en forteresses par Gil Roy
If I Learned something from my very short military experience this is if the enemy want to cross your line and he put the needed ressources he will cross your line. But if you are ready, if you put enough ressources, you can slow him or stop him. I heard too much ideas on what was not done. It is good to have the analysis of a true expert. By the way, the efforts of the security services in Brussels airport are recognized.
Après l'attentat commis à Bruxelles-Zaventem, pour les pouvoirs publics, la tentation est grande de renforcer les contrôles d'accès aux aéroports. C'est pourtant l'aéroport européen qui dispose du plus...Lire la suite

700.000 pageviews on Belgianaviationnews.be
Last Sunday.I was frantically looking at
the statistics of the blog. A few more posts and 700.000 pageviews were in the gunsight.
And then the horror on Monday morning.
The awfull news were the occasion to get
news from friends or professionals in the middle of the rescue operations. The main
lesson of this sad event and from messages received from all over the world is
we share our passion with whole world.
700.000 is a very small figure compared to
highly successful aviation site. 700.000 shares of news from friends is a big
achievement proving the key is sharing our passion.
When I started Belgianaviationnews.be, the
main source of information was websites. Today and more and more, information
is delivered in real time via social networks and mails. We are never alone. We
have 24 hours a day, friends sharing their knowledge, their incredible skills,
pictures or the marvels they discover.
Thanks you to our readers and to all the
friends who practice the only way to make this world better : share, share and
share again.
You are always welcome to add friends to
our mailing lists and share your news.
And now, let’s break new frontiers, the sky is the limit.

Update Brussels Airport - 23 March 2016 at 12:39
Forwarded message - From: MEDIA Mailbox
1. There will be no passenger flights tomorrow. Brussels Airport and airlines are in narrow contact to find suitable solutions for all passengers.
2. Brussels Airport is looking at the possibilities to start cargo flights today or tomorrow. Brucargo landside has been cleared since yesterday. As soon as Brucargo airside is cleared, cargo flights could resume.
3. Passengers who left their luggage at the airport yesterday, are requested to contact their airline or their handlers. This is the fastest way to retrieve the luggage. If there is no representative office of the airline at Brussels Airport, passengers are requested to fill out the lost luggage form on the website of Brussels Airport http://www.brusselsairport.be/en/passngr/lugagge_travelinfo/lostnfoundapp/
4. Passengers who have cars at the airport parking can't retrieve their car yet. Brussels Airport will communicate as soon as possible about any changes.
Dear press,
Please find an update for Brussels Airport regarding airport operations.

Brussels Airport update 23 March 2016 at 18:25
Forwarded message - From: MEDIA Mailbox
Dear journalist,
At the moment the crime scene investigation is still ongoing at the terminal of Brussels Airport. Until further notice, the perimeter around the airport remains as it is.
We are unfortunately unable to give any indication on further timing about when the terminal will be cleared and ready for inspection by airport staff to determine the damage and to start reconstruction.
Partial aerial activities will resume tonight. Cargo flights and private flights handled by General Aviation can resume as of now. Passenger flights are suspended until Friday included.
A wake will be held this evening by airport staff in remembrance of the victims. Our management will be present at the wake. Out of respect for the victims, their family and our employees, interviews will not be given. Thank you for your understanding.
