Space Ace

The only time an airplane ever shot down a satellite.

Why the F-15? Two words: power and performance. With thrust greater than weight, the fighter can climb vertically. Here, an F-15A fires two flares over Florida in 2004. (USAF (USAF/Paul Reynolds)

Forwarded message - From: Michael Lewis

Michael Lewis et Ferhat Benkhedda ont publié dans Brussels Air Museum Voisin LA restoration .       Michael Lewis 27 mars, 10:51   Photo series of the dismantled main control bar to which the joystick and rudder bars are attached. The photos serve as the main reference when it comes to re-assembling the restored pieces. Most of the split pins (goupilles) will need replacing as it is almost impossible to extract them without damage.   J'aime Commenter Partager

Thank you and respect.

To all the members of the members of the Belgian Air Force from the lowest to the highest level and all the peoples involved, I should like to express my respect and thanks.

Since so many years, if we are in peace, this is because of you.

Every time I meet you here in Belgium or abroad, I am amazed by your expertise, your sense of duty, your open mind, your readiness, your incredible capacity to learn by yourself and maybe not the least your care at the public. In one word, at all levels, excellence.

For us, you stay always at the highest level, you leave your family for long deployments in dangerous and distant place everywhere in the world. The number of humanitarian missions you are, you were, involved cannot be accounted. You make choice of the difficult job but you do it so well.

This picture has an history. When the Red Devils were created again, they were the very firsts where the pilots and the technicians were accessible to the public at their tent. It creates a magic relation between the public and these fantastic ambassadors of us. The idea was so successful, everybody now do the same. You changed this world and us. We know who you are and we know we need you.

So today the times are difficult but because you are the best of us, You will overcome.
Do not have any doubt about our support.

Thank you and respect.

Leve de Luchtmacht / vive la Force Aérienne

And many happy landings
