A magnificently restored 1936 Avro Anson Mark I light bomber taxis and then takes off from Ardmore Aerodrome in Auckland, New Zealand. This is the only Mk 1 Anson currently flying anywhere in the world.

The 1935 Avro Anson took to the skies in Nelson, NZ, July 18 2012 for its maiden flight after a 10 year restoration. It is a MkI model and was bought in Australia by Bill & Robyn Reid of Nelson. The Reids plan to keep the plane and fly it at air shows across the country.

Flight Archives Delivery Avro Anson OO-CFA (now preserved in the collection of the Royal Army Museum in Brussels)

The Avro Anson XIX is now in the collection of the Museum.
The Flight archive contains a small article about the initial delivery of this aircraft in 1947
