| Latest news | News 20210201: Cessna 310B OO-SEI in our workshop |
| Dear Followers, This is it! The Cessna 310B OO-SEI has now arrived in our workshop! A small Belgian-built Clybouw helicopter has been retrieved as well. Many thanks to the VLOC (Vlaams Luchtvaart Opleidings Centrum) in Oostende for this generous donation. Thank you to the teachers and students from this aviation training center who dismantled the Cessna allowing its road transportation. Two trucks were necessary for this transport operation. A first flatbed truck for the fuselage and the wings and a second for the smaller parts and the helicopter (many thanks to Literie Libau!). We also thank the Old Flyers Club who bears the entire cost of transportation. Thanks also to the Clybouw helicopter designer's son for authorizing the transfer of this aircraft to the BAPA. Everything went well during this two days operation. We will now have to rearrange the workshop and plan the restoration of the Cessna. | |

SBAP update on 31-01-2021
Dear aviation enthusiast,
This week on SBAP web site:
Events:
Brussels Airport: January Air Traffic
The first month of the year 2021 has already passed...
only eleven months to go and it is Christmas... Yesssssss !
So here we are again with the activity at Brussels Airport, which, it must be said,
did not benefit from very good weather every day. But here we are, sometimes
with some rare or interesting planes arriving in the rain, in the fog or during a
small snowstorm, that caught the authorities off guard...
Enjoy your flight with us and stay safe.

"Razzle Blades"
On 28 January 2021, the Belgian Air Force presented the new paint scheme of the
Agusta A109BAi solo display. H46 helicopter (OT-AKN), last one delivered (in February 1994)
of a series of 46 aircraft ordered by the Belgian authorities on December 8th, 1988,
which exchanged its traditional green livery for a much bolder paint scheme.
It is time to follow us on the Beauvechain airbase and discover the official presentation
of "Razzle Blades". Ready ? Lift off !

Save the date!--Webinaire "Transport aérien en crise et défi climatique : vers de nouveaux paradigmes", 11-12 mars 2021-International Conference "Air transport in crisis and the climate challenge: Towards new paradigms",11
"Air transport in crisis and the climate challenge: Towards new paradigms",11-12 March, Webinar
Madame, Monsieur,

Dear all,
The Air and Space Academy is pleased to bring to your attention the programme of the international symposium "Air Transport in Crisis and Climate Challenge: Towards New Paradigms" to be held on 11 and 12 March. Please note that the current health context obliges us to organise this event in the form of a "webinar".
The challenge of climate change is causing an upheaval in today's society. Many are speaking out to alert public opinion, others to propose their solutions in the face of soaring public awareness on this issue. Within this context, air transport is called on to drastically reduce its carbon footprint by 2050, at a time when its prospects for development still appear very high. As with any revolution in practices, this requirement facing air transport provides a real opportunity for reinvention in a sector that has been capable for decades of adapting itself, helping bring together people, their cultures and their economies.
The Air and Space Academy has decided to tackle this major subject independently, without preconceptions or taboos, so as to clarify the strategies of the different players. Over two days, it will bring together climatologists, experts from the various industrial sectors concerned (energy, aeronautics, transport, etc.), as well as sociologists and economists from different countries. In addition to professionals and politicians, the conference will target a wider audience, particularly the younger generation, with committed representatives being invited to participate in the discussions.
For more information, we invite you to visit the website dedicated to this event: www.academieairespace.com/colloque/.
Do not hesitate to share this information with your various contacts and collaborators.
We would be very happy to count you among the participants of this event.
The conference secretariat is at your disposal for any further information you may require.
Best regards,
Patricia Segala
