Diamond Jubilee fly-past over London as seen from the Lancaster Second World War heavy bomber June 6, 2012

Released by the UK's Ministry of Defence, the following footage brings you on board an Avro Lancaster bomber of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight during the Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee fly-past over Buckingham Palace on June 5.

The video was filmed from the Lancaster's nose bomb aimer position, located just below the Frazer Nash FN5 nose turret, and from the cockpit.

Enjoy the view of London  from the large transparent perspex nose cupola.

Queens Diamond Jubilee EIIR Flypast 19 May 2012 - A Pilot's View

From the 7 May 2012, RAF Hawks practiced a taxing formation design to be flown as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Military Muster over Windsor castle on 19 May 2012. This video was filmed from "Ruby 4" - the lower part of the loop of the 'R'. I hope you enjoy watching it.

First Airbus A400M Formation

As the next-generation A400M continues its certification evaluations, all five of the programme's flight test aircraft took to the sky this week for a unique formation flight performed by the Airbus Flight Test teams. The exercise originated from Toulouse, France. Once completed, each aircraft returned to its individual testing activities -- which include evaluations for handling quality (performed by A400M test aircraft MSN1), wing pod hose stability (MSN2), engine performance (MSN3), pressurisation and oxygen (MSN4), and function and reliability (MSN6).

NATO Secretary General visits Belgian Air Force Base

The NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited the Belgian Air Force Base of Kleine Brogel on Thursday, 7 June at the invitation of the Belgian Minister of Defence Pieter De Crem. The Secretary General thanked all the service members of the air base for their significant role in NATO-led missions and operations, from the Balkans to the Baltics, from Afghanistan to Libya.

Bomber Command Memorial : Halifax OW-M

Some years ago, some members of Wings of Memory were instrumental in the recovery of the Handley Page Halifax OW-M. Metal from this aircraft is now included in the Bomber Command Memorial monument in London.





The crew of OW-M is remembered in Geraardsbergen by a monument (thx  Stefan)

Aluminium van de Halifax OW-M verwerkt in het Bomber Command Memorial in Londen.

Deze Halifax werd geborgen dank zij de inzet en organisatie van diverse Wings Of Memory leden, waaronder Stefan Delannoit.

Een monument voor de bemanning van de Halifax OW-M is steeds te bezoeken in Geraardsbergen.

La compagnie aérienne allemande Lufthansa, soucieuse de limiter son endettement, prévoit la cession de sa filiale de catering LSG Sky Chefs, rapporte lundi le Financial Times Deutschland. Lufthansa envisage de vendre jusqu'à 49 % de sa filiale d'ici l'an prochain au plus tard, de préférence à un spécialiste des services de restauration qui n'est pas encore présent dans l'industrie aérienne, et d'avoir une option de vente sur les parts restantes, selon des informations du journal. LSG Sky Chefs est une unité rentable qui emploie près de 30.000 personnes dans le monde et qui a réalisé l'an passé un chiffre d'affaires de 2,3 milliards d'euros. Plus petite, la division de services informatiques du groupe a réalisé un chiffre d'affaires de 600 millions d'euros.

Thanks for watching and taking time to learn about the Typhoon Pilots role in the second world war. The Hawker Typhoon was a British single-seat fighter-bomber, produced by Hawker Aircraft. While the Typhoon was designed to be a medium-high altitude interceptor, and a direct replacement for the Hawker Hurricane, several design problems were encountered, and the Typhoon never completely satisfied this requirement. Other external events in 1940 prolonged the gestation of the Typhoon. Caudron Renault CR 714 restoration : Le CR 714 N°5 des Ailes Anciennes du Bourget

The Ailes Anciennes of Le Bourget acquired many years ago a French fighter of 1940's vintage. There were many missing parts and the aircraft was an evolution of a racer, so the restoration was long and very complicated.

Now a new team take over the project and the progress are fast.
