More on Mosquito F-Freddie

Forwarded message - From: Dave Poissant

2TAF MBA Members et al:
If you enjoyed the video of the Mosquito at Abbottsford, and you appreciate the dedication required to get such an historical aircraft airworthy, you may be interested in the fact that Pan Productions, who shot that video, have a 'Kickstarter' campaign to fund the production of the full documentary of the restoration and first flights of this Mosquito:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/237898536/gaining-altitude-the-mosquito-reborn
They offer some very neat rewards for various pledge levels; pledges will not be claimed unless the funding target ($15,000) is reached on time.

Video DH Mosquito at Abbottsford

Forwarded message - From: Dave Poissant

2TAF MBA Members et al:
Here's a video of the newly-restored Mosquito flying at the Abbottsford, BC Airshow in August. This is the aircraft we featured in the August issue of Dispersals; it was restored by Victoria Air Maintenance for Bob Jens of Vancouver, BC.
An interesting feature of this video is the appearance of our own Dick 'Sandy' Sanderson (Pilot - 107 Squadron). Sandy traveled from his home in Kelowna with his son to the show where he ended up being interviewed for a feature documentary being prepared on this Mosquito. You'll see Sandy at about the 4 minute mark.

Well done Sandy!

[vintage-and-warbirds] Mosquito aircraft to fly at Abbotsford International Airshow

Forwarded message - From: Steve Link

I'd love to see this beauty!!!!!

Rare Mosquito aircraft to fly at Abbotsford International Airshow

Catch an extraordinary glimpse of history on August 9 & 10, where one of only two airworthy examples of the de Havilland Mosquito in the World today will fly at the Abbotsford International Airshow.
This rare piece of aviation history was expertly restored right here in British Columbia, starting in 2009 after its purchase by Collector, Bob Jens, in 2005. This Mosquito saw its first taste of flight in forty-eight years only a few weeks ago on June 16, 2014, becoming the only the second flying Mosquito in the World.
The Abbotsford International Airshow is honoured to host this iconic piece of aviation history and extends our heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved in this incredible restoration. The restored aircraft will fly, and remain on static display on Saturday, August 9 & Sunday, August 10. Don't miss this opportunity to meet a significant piece of Canadian history! Get your tickets now.
